Every year, Boston’s North End celebrates the feast of Saint Anthony of Padua during the last weekend of August. This is a traditional event that dates back to the early 20th century. In this period, large amounts of Italians immigrated to the United States and settled in the northeast, in Boston. The North End in Boston, MA, quickly became the new home to the immigrated Italians!
Upon immigrating to the United States, the Italians brought their traditions and customs that they celebrated in their homeland, Italy. During the early 1900s, Italians established a nonprofit religious and cultural organization dedicated to honoring St. Anthony of Padua. Over the years, this wonderful tradition has continued on.
